Privacy policy
This is the privacy policy for Yarny: Crochet Patterns & AI, an app published by Reinless Studio. It is written to say plainly what the app does with your data, and it matches, line for line, what the App Store and Google Play listings declare.

You can use most of it signed out
Browsing patterns, following a project step by step and saving favourites all work without an account. You only sign in — with Google or with Apple — if you want to post to the community feed, comment, or carry your saves between devices. Everything below applies from that point on.
What we collect
- Your account A username you choose, an avatar emoji, and the account identifier Google or Apple gives us when you sign in. We never receive or store your password, and we do not keep your email address.
- What you post The photo and caption of anything you share to the community feed, your comments, and which posts you liked or saved.
- Your subscription Whether you have an active subscription and which plan, handled for us by RevenueCat. Card details go to Google Play or the App Store and never reach us.
- Files you hand to the AI A photo or PDF you pick for the pattern importer is read once to produce the pattern and is not stored afterwards.
What we never collect
The app does not ask for, and our servers never receive:
- your name or email address
- your location
- your contacts, calendar or browsing history
- an advertising ID — the app shows no ads and contains no ad SDK
- device identifiers, analytics or crash-reporting data — there is no analytics or crash SDK in the app
Who else touches it
We do not sell your data, and we do not hand it to anyone to use for their own purposes. A handful of companies process it strictly on our behalf, only to make a feature work:
- Cloudflare R2 — stores the photos you post
- Amazon Rekognition — checks a posted photo for explicit content before it appears in the feed
- OpenAI and Google Gemini — generate patterns and read the file you import, for that request only
- RevenueCat — keeps track of subscription status
- Google Play and the App Store — process payments
How it is protected
Every request between the app and our servers goes over HTTPS, and the app pins the certificate authority so a tampered connection is refused rather than trusted. Photos are uploaded straight to storage over signed HTTPS links. Posted photos are screened automatically before they can appear in the feed, and anyone can report a post or block another user from inside the app.
Deleting everything
You can delete your account and everything attached to it from the app itself, with no email and no waiting period. The steps, and the full list of what goes and what stays, are on the delete your account page.
Children
Yarny carries an open community feed and is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
